- Funding will only be considered for projects that help to improve the lives of young people, to be: Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve, Make a Positive Contribution and Achieve Economic Wellbeing. It is important for you to give examples of how your project will help make improvements in those areas.
- Make it readable! If your handwriting isn’t clear type it on a computer and cut and paste it.
- Answer all the questions. Don’t just give one sentence answers, you need to show you have thought it through.
- Breakdown the budget. Be specific – if you need materials, say what they are and how much they cost. Don’t ask for things you don’t really need. Get quotes and look for value for money.
- Whatever you’re doing, make sure young people get recognition and accreditation for it.
- Spread the word about your project. Be creative about how you reach young people outside of your group.
- Find out young people’s views in the evaluation, like what they learned and what went well and could be better next time.
- Have a worker check the application before handing it in.
