CommUNITY Arts

By Stoke Newington Youth Forum

Stoke Newington Youth Forum came up with the idea of engaging the community through art a few months ago. We began by designing the outline for the painting through taking photographs and using different computer software, with the help of Point Blank.

The final canvas was painted by about 120 people from all over Hackney, of all different ages. It was part of the One Hackney Carnival; the event was a roaring success and fun for all involved.

We aim to portray the positive side of Hackney and give young people good representation in the media.

We were lucky enough to be supported by The Youth Opprtunity Fund.
