FYI: Focused Young Individuals

posted by: Administrator

Lydia

FYI: Focused Young Individuals is a unique photography exhibition, a result of a collaborative project between over 30 young people and professionals working in art, design, photography and journalism, including Agenda Photography, YH! World, Poached Creative and Hackney’s Young Photographers.

The exhibition focuses on the lives of six young people who are building a career in the creative industries. Hackney Young Photographers worked with Agenda Photography to shoot portraits of each of the young people involved, while a young journalist from Poached Creative interviewed them, to tell the story behind each of the photographs. Hackney-based organisation Art Against Knives are curating and promoting the exhibition, broadcasting Hackney’s home-grown talent to both the art world and the wider public.

As well as the exhibition, there will be a series of installations across Hackney including Arcola Theatre & Circus, Dalston Junction Station, Eastern Curve Gardens, Gillet Square and Rio Cinema. These will be displayed for one month opening on the 6 October. Each image will be shown alongside a text detailing the young person’s story. A map of this Dalston trail will be provided so you can navigate around Hackney to each image.

The exhibition is running at The Rebel Dining Society, Vyner Street HQ, E2 9DQ from the 6 – 13 October. Admission is free. Find out more on www.focusedyoungindividuals.com .
