Kath-Man-Du-It? YES, they can!!!

Last week an elated group of young people from Laburnum Boat Club in Hackney returned from a once-in-a-life-time expedition to Nepal. The expedition took a year to plan and the group had to raise all the funds needed to go, which they did by any means possible, including a 47mile sponsored kayak around London and support from the Hackney Youth Opportunities Fund.

The expedition  included a Community Project in Nepal, which saw the group build 4 toilets in a remote hill-side village, with the help of the local people.

While there the group also kayaked on the Kali Gandaki River, the holiest river in Nepal. Now back, the group are putting together a presentation that they will take to other Youth Clubs and Schools, to show what they have achieved and hopefully inspire other Hackney young people to get active and motivated like they have.
