LOL! up in the Attic

Ashley and TJ

Best excuse you've given for being late... how about 'I was struck by Zeus'; or 'I woke up with Beyonce'? Ever heard a Grime version of 'The wheels on the bus...'?

Ashley and TJ serve up a brand of comedy madness that gets you every time - and it certainly worked for the crowd at the Acting UP showcase at Hackney Attic. It might have been a hard room for the performers to win over, but by the end of the night everyone was lapping it up.

The show was an introduction to the LOL! Summer Comedy School, which will give anyone aged 8 - 19 the skills they need to turn a routine routine into comedy dynamite. There's still a few places on offer - if you think you could be the next Chris Rock, Russell Howard or Andi Osho, get your name on the list... contact mandy.richards@hackney.gov.uk or call 020 8356 5433.

Workshops will give you a grounding in the basic theories, ideas and skills of improvisation. You don't have to have any sort of background in performing or comedy to join in, just a willingness to get involved and have a good time. And who knows, there's a chance you could play at the next Acting UP showcase at the Attic.

Young people aged 16 could have their say in the Scottish referendum - is it time to lower the voting age in the UK?
