Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, is coming to Hackney next Thursday (26 May) and he wants to meet with young people to find out how he can help make London a safer place.
He's running an event called the Community Conversation at City Academy in Homerton; 5.30pm - 7pm. The event is free, but you need to sign up in advance - go to the Mayor's website to do this: www.london.gov.uk/ccp or you can call 020 7983 4100.
The Mayor has already started a number of programmes across London, to help young people who are caught up in gangs and youth violence, and encourage them to make a more positive decisions in their lives. You can read about some of these here: http://tinyurl.com/3aet597
What do you think? What's the best way to help young people stay safe? Is it more activities for all young people; or extra support just for those young people who find themselves in trouble?
Let him know! Get along to the City Academy and get your voice heard!
