OurSpace is your space…

Your space to create

OurSpace is a youth-led social initiative that aims to provide creative resources and opportunities for young people by young people.

OurSpace has launched a series of creative workshops throughout May and June run by young people for young people, supported by creative industry professionals!!

A team of five young people have designed and planned these exciting workshops for young people in Hackney.

We have chosen to use a mixture of existing spaces in our community- from youth centres that can benefit from extra exciting opportunities, to creative spaces that young people don’t normally have access to.

We have asked creative businesses such as Mother Advertising agency to open their doors and allow young people to gain an insight into the working world of local businesses.

All the events have been designed by creative young people and will be run by them along with the support of a creative professional. We want the young people who take part to have the opportunity to learn new skills and understand how these translate into the working world - How do you become a professional dancer? How do you go about designing t-shirts as a living!?

All of the young people attending the workshops will have the opportunity to gain qualifications, led and assessed by other young people - so an opportunity to add to your CV as well as having fun!
