Young Hackney volunteers helping out at St Anne's

As part of CSV's Make a Difference campaign, 14 young people from Young Hackney Volunteers project turned out and spent a day at local care home St Anne's working with the residents. The volunteers spent the afternoon baking dozens of cakes and scones with the residents before offering them to other residents with a nice cup of tea and a smile - all part of the CSV campaign to reduce loneliness and isolation.

The afternoon was a huge success with all the young people taking part asking to return as soon as possible and the home agreeing they would be only too happy to arrange another visit! Margaret, the homes Events Coordinator said "It has helped bridge the gap between the old and the young, they each learn from each other and appreciate each other perhaps a little bit more".
