The London 2012 organisers are recruiting volunteer performers to participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Get this – if you succeed at the audition you’ll have the chance to perform in front of an audience of 1 BILLION people. You’ll be working under acclaimed film director Danny Boyle and will be part of one the most amazing cultural events this country has ever seen.
You need to be 18 years old or older on 1 March 2012, but you don’t need previous performing experience. Don’t worry if you’re not quite old enough – there will be other opportunities for younger performers to take part, but these will be announced at a later date. The artistic directors are looking for dancers, actors, percussionists and general all-round performers.
You must be able to participate in up to two auditions that will take place evenings and weekends in November and early December of this year and then up to two or three rehearsal sessions each week of up to four hours per session from March 2012. There will also be a number of all-day rehearsals in the three weeks leading up to each Ceremony. All rehearsals will be in east London.
