If you're interested in working at the Olympic Park at Games time you need to think about applying now.
If you're aged 16 or over there are plenty of opportunities. Especially if you're a student looking for some holiday employment, maybe looking for a job that pays the London living wage, one that allows you to be a part of the biggest event in this country in this century...
Most will be at entry level (meaning you won't need experience, just enthusiasm and commitment) - mainly in retail, cleaning, security and catering. Click on this link to get more information from the London 2012 site.
Don't forget there's a Recruitment Fair being held at St Johns Churchyard, Lower Clapton Road, E5 OPD on Wednesday 28 September from 10.00am - 5.00pm. Representatives from all the major contractors will be there and they'll be able to take you through the application process.
Hackney has a dedicated contact point for unemployed local people who are interested in finding out about employment opportunities and training programmes in the lead up to and during the Games. It's based at the Hothouse, 274 Richmond Road (not far from the Town Hall). You can call them on 020 7275 7843 or email onsiterecruitment@tng.uk.com. There's more information on the Hackney Council site.
On Site will also be at the Hackney Service Centre, 1 Hillman Street, E8 1DY every Monday between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
And keep checking the young hackney jobs and training pages. We'll list all jobs and apprenticeships when we get to hear about them.
