No need to travel: Hackney now has two cinemas. The Rio in Dalston, and the newly-opened Picture House on Mare Street.
The Picture House is based in the old Ocean building, opposite the Town Hall, has got four screens, and will be showing a mix of mainstream blockbusters and arthouse. First up is The Help, Adventures of Tintin, Ides of March and We Need to Talk About Kevin.
They'll also be running regular gigs, events, workshops and quizzes in the upstairs space The Attic.
