Tell the Council what matters to you

posted by: Administrator

Hackney’s Scrutiny Commissions are groups of local councillors who to put the issues that matter under the spotlight.

Each year the five Scrutiny Commissions look into issues suggested by residents through an annual survey. Anyone can get involved, either by attending meetings, registering their opinions or recommending topics for future work.

The Commissions want to hear the views of young people!

This is your chance to let them know which issues you feel are important: is it Hackney's Schools; Parks and Leisure Centres; keeping the streets clean? Perhaps you're worried about safety, or the local economy...

Last year’s survey found that making Hackney safer was the top priority, so one of the Scrutiny Commissions completed a review of how the Council and Police are working together to address gun & knife crime. People also said that education services were important, so a Commission reviewed local achievement at Key Stage 2.

So what matters to you? Take part in the Scrutiny Commission’s anonymous survey by clicking on this link.

Alternatively, call 020 8356 3341 or e-mail scrutiny@hackney.gov.uk to request a paper copy.
