Hackney Council is once again encouraging young sports men and women to apply to the Hackney Youth Sport Fund for financial support to pursue their chosen sport. The annual grant recognises the achievements of Hackney’s talented young people.

If you are a budding athlete or sports person age 9 to 25, you can apply for between £50 and £500 to develop your talent through the Hackney Youth Sports Fund. You can apply for money to cover the cost of entering a specific competition, coaching course, development camp or other similar event, for example: equipment, travel, accommodation, competition fees, specialist coaching fees, other similar expenditure.

"The session we had on Thursday 7th February was fun. It was a Personal Best session, which meant we got to participate in various sports and then try to beat our time. the best thing was that none of us were competing against each other.

Badminton is a very fun sport and Hackney is one of the best places to play it, since there are so many leisure centres in the area it shouldn't be hard to find a place to play. So get your rackets and get smashing.
