Hackney YOT
The Youth Offending Team provides support for young people who have been in trouble with the police and tries to work with young people who might be at risk of getting into trouble to stop them. The YOT is made up of different services that provide support like education, health, drugs & alcohol, connexions, housing etc.

Youth Board
The Youth board is managed by Darryl Powell, who is passionate about giving young people a genuine say in how services are run.
Young people who successfully complete their court orders or preventative work also have the opportunity to get involved with the Youth Board. This is a group of young people who have been involved with the YOT who meet up every other week, take part in training, plan events, influence decisions and discuss issues for young people involved in the criminal justice system, giving feedback or ideas are given to the YOT to help improve services. The Council also consults with the Youth Board about more general issues and services for young people in Hackney.
Currently the Youth board members are training to become trained volunteer mentors, who will support any new young people attending the YOT.
The Youth Board is part of the Hackney Youth Parliament
Youth Board members say:
"Hackney YOT is a good place to come and talk about any issues or problems, what has happened in the past, and what will happen in the future".
"You get to go on trips and meet new people"
"Everyone is friendly"
