VIPs in Transition The project effectively brings together visually impaired young people aged 14-18 from varying cultural, ethnic and class backgrounds, supporting the development of their independent living skills and self-awareness. Young people are encouraged to step out of their local districts and meet potential friends as the project opens it’s door at various venues across the boroughs. Personal development The project, including all activities and events are free to registered young people. All young people who are registered onto the project are offered an initial consultation which helps to identify whether the individual is ready for the potential life changing experiences that they may encounter throughout their development and thus time on the project. Each young person is then supported through their ‘person centered action plan’ devised to support their individual development needs. They then have the opportunity to have their plans reviewed every 6 weeks , ensuring that these needs are met.
VIP’s In Transition is a visually impaired integrated youth service. We work closely with specialist departments and organizations to implement choice for our young people. The choice to engage in employment, further education and mainstream activities.
