The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Are you aged 13.5 -19 (up to 25 with a special educational need and/or a disability), and are interested in taking part in the DofE programme?

DofE is a great way for young people to learn life’s practical skills as well as enhance those interpersonal skills that help you mature. It gives young people independence, a chance to see some of this country’s beautiful countryside, encounter wildlife and animals, builds resilience and confidence at making decisions and problem-solving and gaining experience and an achievement with friends.

Take your Bronze, Silver or Gold award through Young Hackney. If you’re already participating in Young Hackney programmes, you could be accredited as part of your Physical, Skills or Volunteering sections. By taking part in the DofE programme you can use activities you are already doing as well as join groups for the Expedition section to complete your full award.

Visit the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award site to find out more about completing the physical, expedition and residential sections.

Applications for DofE are currently closed.

If you would like more information or a chat about the programme, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing Maxcine Hill-Beattie, Accreditation Co-ordinator, at maxcine.hill-beattie@hackney.gov.uk or by phoning 020 8356 2124.
