Volunteers are highly valued by Young Hackney.

Our volunteers enjoy:

To become a Young Hackney volunteer you have to be 18+ years old, submit an application form and attend an informal interview. Successful DBS and reference checking is also a requirement.

We ask for a commitment of two hours a week, but we can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.

In return for your time we offer full reimbursement of travel expenses and lunch expenses up to £5, support and supervision, training opportunities and references.

Summer volunteers 2025

Apply now to be a summer volunteer for Young Hackney!

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are 18+ to support our exciting 5-week summer programme starting on 25 July.

Volunteering is a perfect opportunity to boost your CV, give back to your community and meet new people. If you decide to join us, you’ll be committing to a minimum of 3 hours a week and based at one of our youth hubs or adventure playgrounds during the summer.
