Volunteering

Volunteers are highly valued by Young Hackney.

Our volunteers enjoy:

  • A dedicated point of contact.
  • Role-specific training, as well as access to a range of other training.
  • Provision of agreed expenses.
  • The opportunity for personal and professional development.

To become a Young Hackney volunteer you have to be 18+ years old, submit an application form and attend an informal interview. Successful DBS and reference checking is also a requirement.

We ask for a commitment of two hours a week, but we can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.

In return for your time we offer full reimbursement of travel expenses and lunch expenses up to £5, support and supervision, training opportunities and references.
