About

Terms & conditions

We hope you have enjoyed using the Young Hackney website. By using this website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by our terms and conditions of use. The website is owned and run by the London Borough of Hackney.

This website is designed to give general information about activities for young people. We do everything possible to make sure the information on this site is accurate. Unfortunately in life, stuff happens, so we can’t guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes there are last-minute changes to times or venues, sometimes we may receive incorrect information from an event organiser, sometimes we get it wrong! But, by using the site, you accept that information and materials may contain occasional inaccuracies or errors and we exclude liability for any inaccuracies or errors (to the fullest extent permitted by law).

It helps us if you tell us about any inaccuracies – so if you notice a mistake, please contact us using the Ask Us Anything form.

Event listings

Similarly, while we promote events and activities, together with some services and products, it’s ultimately down to you to check out whether the service is appropriate to your requirements.

While we make every effort to make sure that the activities listed on this site are of the highest standard, LB Hackney is not responsible for the timing, quality or safety of provision offered by organisations other than Young Hackney. LB Hackney commissions some activities run by voluntary sector and while we do monitor these organisations to make sure they are offering high-quality activities, these organisations are nevertheless responsible for the timing, quality and safety of their provision. Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable.

We want to encourage debate and explore issues through lively content – but if you think someone has overstepped the mark, then let us know through the ‘Ask us Anything’ form. Similarly, while Young Hackney staff moderate content on this site the views and comments published will not always represent the views of LB Hackney.

We’ve also included a number of links to other websites. These links should give you more information and advice, but it doesn’t mean we officially endorse these sites and we have no responsibility for their content.

The website uses cookies to monitor browsing preferences. However, we don’t share personal information with third parties. If we ever intend to use personal information for another purpose, we will try to contact you to ask your permission, using the contact information you have provided. Contact information supplied in connection with an event or organisation may be passed on to people interested in finding out more. The exceptions to these rules are when we feel that individuals may be at risk, in which case we may share information with appropriate services.

The design, layout and graphics are owned by us, so are subject to copyright – please don’t use them out of turn. If you would like to use the Young Hackney logo – just get in touch so we can discuss its potential use. All trade marks reproduced in this website which are not the property of, or licensed to, the operator are acknowledged

Finally, your use of this website and any dispute arising out of such use of the website is subject to the laws of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.

Feedback & Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the service we are offering, we would like to hear from you so we can improve what we do. We’d also like to hear from you if we’ve done something well! You can contact us by calling 020 8356 7404 or by emailing info@hackney.gov.uk.

If you have a complaint to make about an incident that takes place at a youth club, we would encourage you to speak to the lead youth worker or centre manager in the first instance.
