Celebrate International Women's Day

posted by: Administrator

Young women in Hackney aged 13 -19 are invited to celebrate International Women’s Day at the ‘We can do it!’ event on Thursday 11 March, 1-8pm, at Ocean Music Venue in Mare Street.

Presented by Hackney Council’s Young Women’s Group, Youth Service and Youth Opportunity Fund, the free event is an opportunity for young women to develop skills in the arts and be in with a chance of winning £100 worth of shopping vouchers.

Highlights include the first annual public speaking championship for young women in Hackney and the all female talent show finale where they can show off their talents without auditions.

Attendees will be able to take part in warm-up workshops including dance, vocal training, acting, performance skills and confidence building, plus speak to professionals for some last-minute tips before taking the stage. The event will also include performances by special guests.
