Robert Levy Foundation @ We Love Hackney

Robert Levy Foundation

The re-run of the Hackney Carnival probably just about takes No.1 spot, but the annual Robert Levy Foundation event is still set to be a star event in the upcoming WE LOVE HACKNEY weekend.

Featuring singing, poetry, dance, fashion, spoken word and drama, the afternoon will be a showcase for both local talent and featured artists. The event takes place at the Hackney Empire, it's FREE - and starts at 2.00pm on Saturday 17.

In addition, Hackney Community College students will rebuild sections of a car in the Town Hall Square from 10.00am, which will feature onstage at the Empire later during the performances.

Other events during WE LOVE HACKNEY weekend (there's something for everyone...!)

  • Hackney One Carnival on Sunday 12.00pm start, at Ridley Road Market, E8 2NP. It's the costumes, it's the dancing, it's the spectacle, it's the music... yes it's Carnival, and it's back!
  • Saturday: Universal Board Games on the Narrow Way 12.00 - 4.00pm
  • Saturday: Sutton House 12.30 - 4.00pm House of Arts: Women's History Workshops include textiles, creative writing and storytelling.
