Sharing Time & Skills in The Community
A Time Bank deals with an alternative currency - time; not money
A time bank is an exciting way for people of all ages, to come together to help and support others in their community and be rewarded for it – in time. Participants ‘deposit’ their time in the bank by giving practical help and support to others and are able to ‘withdraw’ their time when they need something done themselves.
Give & Recieve
Time banks measure and value all the different kinds of help and skills we can offer each other. In a time bank, everyone becomes both a giver and a receiver. Time Banking values everyone’s time as equal, 1 hour = 1 time credit. For every hour you spend helping someone in your community you areentitled to an hour of help in return. All manner of skills are recognised.
