Calling all Hackney professionals!

We are looking for volunteers to take part in our next Inspiring Young people career event on Wednesday 14 December 2022 from 10am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 4pm at Forest Road Youth Hub.

We are looking for professionals from all walks of life, backgrounds and sectors to talk to young people about their lives and career journeys.

This event aims to bring together young people in Years 9 & 10 from Hackney schools with professionals from a variety of jobs, sectors, backgrounds and walks of life.

Volunteers are encouraged to share their career stories and offer informal advice and guidance to students in a bid to motivate and inspire them to broaden their horizons and career aspirations.

Whether you are an apprentice or have just started your career, you are an entrepreneur, own your business, or work in a senior role, if you have an interesting story to share, we would like to hear it!

We particularly encourage applications from professionals who are doing an unusual job or are a minority in their field.

The event will comprise of a Q&A with panellists followed by a ‘speed-dating’-style event, which will allow young people to talk to speakers and participants in smaller groups, followed by an opportunity to network.
