Volunteers are highly valued by Young Hackney.
Our volunteers enjoy:

To become a Young Hackney volunteer you have to be 18+ years old, submit an application form and attend an informal interview. Successful DBS and reference checking is also a requirement.
We ask for a commitment of two hours a week, but we can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.
In return for your time we offer full reimbursement of travel expenses and lunch expenses up to £5, support and supervision, training opportunities and references.
Homework club volunteers wanted!
Interested in gaining experience in teaching? Our young carers group are looking for enthusiastic homework club tutors!
This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who is interested in gaining more experience in teaching, whether you’re a recent graduate or someone who’s looking for a career change.
Experience in tutoring is desirable, but not essential!
If you decide to join us, you’ll be committing to attending on Wednesdays from 4-6pm during term time for a minimum of 3 months. All volunteering will take place at Forest Road Youth Hub, 29 Forest Road, E8 3BY.

Youth work volunteers
Ready to make a positive impact on your community and get hands-on experience in youth work?
The Edge and Forest Road Youth Hub are looking for youth work volunteers to join them for one session during the weekdays, either between 3.30-5.30pm or 6.00-9.00pm.
If you have a positive attitude, are confident speaking with young people and keen to learn, then we want to hear from you. Volunteering will take place either at Forest Road Youth Hub, 29 Forest Road, E8 3BY or 7 Woodberry Grove, Woodberry Down, London N4 1SN.

Front of house volunteers
We’re looking for friendly volunteers to meet and greet our young people as they visit our health and wellbeing service, Health Spot City & Hackney, at Forest Road Youth Hub. You’ll help provide a warm welcome, manage the sign-in process, and ensure a calm, safe, and
positive atmosphere in the waiting area.
Volunteering will take place at Forest Road Youth Hub, 29 Forest Road, E8 3BY, and you’ll be asked to commit to one shift a week, either on Thursdays, 4-8pm or Tuesdays 3-7pm.
