Has Hackney changed for the better or for the worse? New buildings are going up and new people are moving in. The Hackney as Home project looks at how young people are affected by gentrification.

Tyrell’s film deals with the changing face of Hackney. Having grown up in the borough, he’s still upbeat about life in E8: ‘I have lived in Hackney all my life and I have seen a lot of changes that are positive as well as negative. When I’ve met people that don’t live in Hackney I get a sense from them that they’ve got a negative vibe, but being born and bred in Hackney I know it’s not all bad, so I’d like to challenge that.’
